G.R.A.C.E.

G-race of God
R-eturn of the Prodigal Son
A-cknowledgement of the Father's Love
C-ourage of letting go
E-nd of bondage, Start of freedom

For the 1st time in several months, I picked it up and read it. I have also read a devotion... (read below)

It will take lots of perseverance and strength to continue my walk back to where I belong... but... I remember this saying, 'The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step'

Earlier... I went to a shop to check out some DVDs. Some English series caught my attention. I am 'addicted' to these lately... if you have not already known... hehe...

CSI (Season 1-8) caught my attention, then One Tree Hill (Season 1-5) & Criminal Minds(Season 1-3). I have decided to buy CSI, but still lamenting between One Tree Hill and Criminal Minds. In the end, the love of basketball helped me make the choice of the 2nd set of DVDs.

I started watching One Tree Hill when I got home. It reminds me of the days I used to play basketball and how much I loved the game.

A character in the series whom I love a lot - Lucas Scott said this...

“Sometimes it seems like you are the only one in the world who's struggling, who's frustrated, or unsatisfied, or barely getting by. But that feeling's a lie. And if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you and make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes. Someone to help us hear the music in the world, to remind us that it won't always be this way. That someone is out there. And that someone will find you. ”

God has been planting seeds in my heart.... He has been performing heart surgery on me. And today, the surgery room's lights went off. It was a SUCCESSFUL surgery! It's still a long way ahead to be fully recovered from this heart surgery, but, God will be there every step of the way.

The devotion I read earlier...

Immersed in Grace

He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever. ~ 1 Peter 5:10

To believe we are totally and eternally debt free is seldom easy. Even if we've stood before the throne and heard it from the king himself, we still doubt. As a result, many are forgiven only a little, not because the grace of the king is limited, but because the faith of the simmer is small. God is willing to forgive all. He's willing to wipe the slate completely clean. He guides us to a pool of mercy and invites us to bathe. Some plunge in, but others just touch the surface. They leave feeling unforgiven...

Where the grace of God is missed, bitterness is born. But where the grace of God is embraced, forgiveness flourished...

The more we immerse ourselves in grace, the more likely we are to give grace.

A New Beginning

Curtain dancing... cool breeze whistling... calmness. It's a beautiful night.

2009 - The Year of the RETURN

The return... who? what? when? where? how? As I sat there listening to the sermon this morning, many things, events, people, emotions flashed back like video playing in my head.

Tears used to accompany me to dreamland... but...

NOT NOW ANYMORE!!! =)

2009... A New Beginning!
It's time to LET GO.

# 23

It's been a long long time since I last played basketball. I played last nite... and it was so fun! Reminds me of the days when I used to be such great fan of Micheal Jordan, Chicago Bulls... =P

I had bruises on my knee and toe... cuz we played with 'kaki ayam'(bare foot), and my knee either knocked on someone or the cement floor... hahaha!!! But... it ws fun!!!

It is just a very good feeling. =)

The Guardian

This is at least the 4th time I've watched this movie. I juz LOVE it!

Some quotes I love, from the movie :-
There is a legend of a man who lives beneath the sea. He is a fisher of men, the last hope of all those who have been left behind. Many survivors claim to have felt his gripping hands beneath them; pushing them up to the surface; whispering strength until help could arrive. But this, of course, is only a legend.

Jake Fischer: What makes a legend? Is it what someone did while they were alive? Or how they're remembered after they're gone?

Jake Fischer: I won't let go!
Ben Randall: I know.

Song from the movie :-
Never Let Go - Byran Adams
Can you lay your life down, so a stranger can live? Can you take what you need, but take less than you give? Could you close every day, without the glory and fame? Could you hold your head high, when no one knows your name? That's how legends are made, at least that's what they say.

We say goodbye, but never let go. We live, we die, cause you can't save every soul. Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who; Will never look back, never look down, and never let go.

Can you lose everything, you ever had planned? Can you sit down again, and play another hand? Could you risk everything, for the chance of being alone? Under pressure find the grace, or would you come undone? That's how legends are made, at least that's what they say.

We say goodbye, but never let go. We live, we die, cause you can't save every soul. Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who; Will never look back, never look down, and never let go.
Never let go, Never let go, Never let go

Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who; Will never look back, never look down, and never let go.

We say goodbye, but never let go. We live, we die, 'but you can't save every soul. Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who; Will never look back, never look down, and never let go.

Will never look back, never look down, and never let go.

Never let go [x3]

I'm always encouraged after watching this movie. I dunno why... but somehow...this movie juz sort of brings me back to life... SLOWLY...

This is not the 1st time I felt this way... after watching this movie.
NEVER LET GO

I guess God is reminding me that He will NEVER let go of me... even though I have let Him go...

4 am

This time sounded so familiar to me, especially during the past weeks.

It has been very crazy weeks for me... staying up 'early' in the morning, in front of my laptop, on the phone... still WORKING!!!

It's the busy time of the year for the team which I am in now... so, working till the wee hours is kinda normal.

2nite... I'm not working. =P It's the weekend!!! But, I'm still up and awake... maybe cuz my body is so used to staying up til 4am... so, even when I'm not working 2nite.. I can't zzz..

So, I stayed up to watch DVD. A luxury for me... cuz I haven't been watching DVD for the past 2 weeks!!! Something which I missed so much, cuz I love watching movies...

It was a great movie... a very heart warming movie about 4 friends... about life... the reality of life... To watch a movie like this is very relaxing... but, it also made me think... about LIFE.

I have been thinking... alot... even with the hectic work schedule which took away most of my time... When I'm alone... I still think.

I ask myself... 'why?', 'what?', 'how?', 'who?', 'where?'

I got those answers... it's all in my mind.

'You've changed.'

Yes... I don't deny it. Like what I mentioned in my previous blog.

Some questions people asked.

'Why do you think some people keep a distance from others show others only the surface of themselves?'

Hmmm... good question. What do you think?

Answers in my head.

'What happened to her? Why did she behave like that?'

Find out the answers yourself!

'Will she ever come back?'

Let's wait and see.

'Why did you do that'?

No answer...

Anyways... that's life. Life is like a puzzle... waiting for you to unlock the mystery. No one has answers to everything...

You've changed.

'You've changed... alot. You're no longer the person I used to know. Your attitude towards people, even towards God have changed.'

'You laugh, you smile, you joke... But, deep down, the joy in you is no longer there.'

When my friends made those remarks, I didn't deny. There's something missing in me.

I need to go to the LOST & FOUND department to find it. =P

I MISS YOU

When you're happy, who do you want to share that joy with?

When you're sad, who do you go to for comfort?

When you're discouraged, who do you go to for encouragement?

When you dunno what to do... who do you go to for advice?

When you need someone to talk to, who do you go to?

When you wanna go out and play, who do you want to go out with?

When the whole world turned their back on you, who would stick with you?

When you wake up on a beautiful morning, who comes into your mind?

All the questions above made me think... It's something I have put aside for a long time... long enough to make me realise... I MISS YOU.

We haven't been talking for a LONG LONG time... and this is the longest SILENCE I've ever recalled. I've always wanted to talk to you... but I didn't do it. I'm AFRAID. I'm afraid that if I do, I will FALL again.

But I know... however I tell myself or the world that it DOESN'T MATTER... but I KNOW... deep down in my heart... I MISS YOU. I STILL MISSES YOU.

A LOT.

I Believe...

I Believe...
That just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.

I Believe...
That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I Believe...
That you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.

I Believe...
That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I Believe..
That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe...
That you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I Believe...
That we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.

I Believe...
That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I Believe...
That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe...
That my best friend and I, can do anything, or nothing and have the best time.

I Believe...
That sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe...
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I Believe...
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others. sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe..
That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe...
That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but, we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life Forever.

I Believe...
Two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.

I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.

I Believe...
That even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.

I Believe...
That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I Believe...
That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything.'

Finally.. it Rained...

Finally... I can hear the rain drops and the cool breeze blowing outside... it's been such bad weather for the past 1-2 weeks... finally, I can breathe some cool & fresh air... hehehe...

The weather outside is cool but my body is hot... hmmm... feels like I'm falling sick soon! Haha...
Had quite a bad tummy ache on Saturday early morning, didn't manage to zzz well. Then 6am have to wake up to go church early to help out in a church friend's wedding ceremony.

The whole saturday was very tiring indeed, with the running around due to the wedding ceremony and the dinner, add on with me not feeling well... it's kinda 'damaging' to my body la.. haha...

So, today, I spent the whole day at home... to re-charge battery.. haha...

Have some photos take for the wedding of my friend... will post it up on my photo album soon.. hehe...

Till then... nites...

Gotta get back to bed... my headache is really 'killing me'... haha...

Relax = Sofa+Dinner+TV

It has been a really bz day.. as usual... ever since I started my new role... hehe...

Slept quite late las9 cuz has been working till mid9... had a tele con call then continued with work. Doze off after that and woke up quite early this morning to send out some emails for the early morning meeting.

Drove to work today.. cuz had to be at office early to take the tele con call early.

Speaking of driving to work... I have not been driving to work for quite some time d... partly cuz I have been car pooling, partly oso cuz my dad's car(my ex-hubby) has not been behaving good... 'He'' has been mis-behaving and sometimes juz does not want to start up! It has been 'torturing' us for quite some time... and last weekend, after numerous car hospital visits, 'he' is finally fixed.

'He' has been behaving quite well for the past few days. But today, roughly b4 lunch time, dad called me and told me that 'he' juz didn't want to start up again!!! And dad mentioned that if 30mins later he still fails to start 'him' up again, then I would need to drive home so that dad can use my car for his work.

'Oh no, driving home? Hmm... means I work from home after that whe dad uses the car? But I have so many things that need face to face discussion with my colleagues!!!'

Many things juz came into my mind... and later in the evening, I need to present during tele-con meeting.

Tension... tension...

Immediately... i whispered a prayer to ask God to work things out and not let anything spoil my day.

Looking at the clock, I was about to call dad after 30mins. When I was about to pick up the phone, a sms came in. It was from dad, my ex-hubby behaved and started up!!!

Praise God!!! God is GOOD!!!

I was still stressed out cuz of the work loads... but, I still accepted my friends' invitation and we went for the makan makan at the Deepa-Raya celebration at the Arena for the free lunch.

The queue was long... as expected, cuz who would miss a FREE lunch? haha...

The food was ok... edible la.. what do you expect for FREE stuffs eh? hehe...

After lunch, went back to continue with my work. It's non-stop... meeting after meeting and files after files to finish up.

Left office quite late cuz of the evening meeting with the US, UK and ppl juz around the globe. Thats the priviledge when you're in a global role... multi-nationals, time zone in the same meeting with the help of technology, conference call. =P

Right after meeting, got a call from a friend. Chatted for a while... my friend asked whether I wanna meet up for supper or drink.

Left for home... when I arrived home, everyone was out. I saw food on the dining table waiting for me. That's really heart warming when you know that food is ready when you have had a hard day's work. Thanks to dad & mum for tat.. Love ya lots! =P

I freshen up b4 dinner. Then, took the plate of food into the TV room and the I juz sat on the sofa and turned on TV to continue watching 'Bones'. Yeah... I had borrowed teh series from my friend, so, I have been in the 'Bones' marathon lately.. hehe...

Sofa+Dinner+TV = relax

This is such a GREAT equation... after finishing my dinner and 1 episode of the series... I really felt good. Totally relaxed... hehe...

Hmm... speaking about how to de-stress... reminds me I must find time to go swimming. It's been a few days since I last swim, thanks to my packed work schedule... hehe...

11pm... hmmm.... maybe another 1 or 2 episodes of 'Bones' before I call it a day.. hehe..

Here I Am

'Here I Am', was the title of last Sunday's sermon, which I've missed cuz went for a getaway at Taiping with friends(will blog about it when I have time to sort out the photos... haha...)

We discussed about this during cell 2nite... 1 of the challenge was - Are you available? Or are you too busy with your own life?

When I saw this question on the cell notes... I really hit me hard... How timely...

Lately... especially after I've started my new role... my time has been even more packed. Previously, my schedule was already full with activities, now, my already packed schedule has to accommodate work and the night tele-cons. Taking a look at mthe calendar on my HP, not surprisingly, EVERYDAY is scheduled with something, whether it's work, dinner, sports, movie... u name it, I have it on the list.

Busyness...

What's the cost of busyness. My relationship with God, family, friends, and even myself!

God
I haven't been spending time with God... very honestly. Due to busyness or unwillingness?

Family
I make it a point to come home for dinner whenever I can. That's the only time during weekdays when I can spend quality time with family. Catching up on each other's lives... the happenings... It's also a place where I felt safe, comfortable.

Friends
I have been catching up a lot with friends, different group of friends, friends whom I do not normally hang out with(ie not my usual kakis). What about my usual kakis? Only God knows what stopped me...

MYSELF
Am I being harsh to myself? Am I trying to get away from something? God knows...

Initially... I did not intend to blog when I came online to log on to my office network to finish up my work for the next day's meeting. But... something just prompted me to blog.

BUSYNESS... what's the meaning of it?

2nd day...

I felt like I'm journaling on my new job... haha...

Drove to work today... didn't car pool cuz there's team dinner after work. =)

9am... staff engagement with manager's manager... big big boss lah! Haha... Went into the hall... hmmm.... didn't see any familiar faces. So, just greeted a few 'ang moh' (mat salleh) and introduced myself. Sat down and the session started, taken by the big big boss.

Then, when it comes to organisation chart and he was introducing the team I am in currently, he asked my manager to introduce the team. I saw my name on the org chart, but the photo section was empty cuz they prepared the slides before I joined the team.. hehe.

'That's Marianne, she just joined us yesterday.', my manager pointed to me as she introduced me to the crowd.

The presentation continued by the big big boss... and as usual... I was blur with some of the terminologies used... and the information shared. I guess most newbies to the team felt the same as I am.. =)

Q&A time... some folks asked questions... then, he mention. '1 last question before we break for tea.'

My manager turned around and asked(loud enough to be heard by the whole crowd, 'Marianne, you being the newest in the team, you have any questions?'.

Oh no! I was taken by surprised. Before I could speak, someone from the crowd spoke, 'Aww... she's only 2 days old in the team, give her a break.'

Everyone laughed. And it ended the meeting. Phew! =P

During the tea break session, managed to speak to quite a few people and get to know their role in the team. It was a good session.

Then, back to work. Lots of readings to be done, and my team lead has been sending emails to me for my assignments(though she's supposed to be out of office cuz away training in the place where this year's Olympics has just concluded in style... =) Hardworking lady... hehe

530pm... time to leave, cuz need to be at KL Tower for the team dinner. Traffic was good, though some minor jam(which was normal in KL).

Team dinner is at the Revolving Restaurant at KL Tower.

It's my 2nd visit to the restaurant, the 1st one was with my previous team. Lucky me eh? Hehe... FOC meals at a 'chun' place with breath-taking nite view of KL city.

Food was so-so only.. but the view was awesome!

There were about 20+ people at the dinner. Took the opportunity to chat with these people again. Most of them consist of 'ang mor' from the US, Europe, Brazil and Australia.

The guy sitting next to me was from the UK. Got to know that he's from Manchester. So, very naturally, I asked him about Manchester United. He told me about the season pass to Old Trafford(if you dunno... it's Manchester United's home stadium). We chatted from fooball to Formula 1 racing to our work.

Chatted with another lady from Australia. She told us about her country and the culture. And we discussed on the cultural differences as people in Shell work across continents. So, we are exposed to various cultures from various countries. It was fun chatting with these people.

There's still alot for me to learn and get adjusted to in the new team. Very honestly, I felt the stress already. But stress motivates me to work harder and to improve on the areas which I'm weak in.

Lots of challenges ahead... but I'm looking forward to it! =P

Sand dunes

'Friendships are like sand dunes'

This was a remark made by a friend, a very good friend of mine.

Sand dunes... What???

U see this picture? This is it!

Why used sand dunes to describe friendships? Hmm... sand dunes changed their shape as the wind blow, and you wouldn't know what will be their next shape. Same goes to friendship... UNPREDICTABLE at times.

People change... circumstances change... friendships change. There's no guarantee that you're the best of friends today, you would be the same 10yrs, 20yrs, or even 50yrs down the road.

CHANGE. I dun like this word. But this is part of life! Without it, life is not INTERESTING!

1st Day =P

Hmmm.... I juz realised I haven't blogged about me getting this role at Shell.. hehe...

Anyways... today is my 1st day at work in the new role.

As usual... my car pool mate picked me up for work. Arrived at office about 830am, and like all Shell staff/vendors(after the outsourcing), we need to use our smart card to access to the building. Mine wasnt working, so I had to get my mate to help me flash the card twice to let me in to the building.

Went to the securities at ground floor, explained to them the situation and got the guards to re-enable my access to the building.

Walked across the bridge back to Wisma 2, why 'back'? It's cuz less than 3 weeks ago, my ex-team were seated at Wisma 2, but cuz of the outsourcing program and our team were part of the teams being outsourced to 1 of the 3 vendors, we had to move to Wisma 4, which is allocated for 1 of the vendors.

So, since now my new contract is back to Shell, so, I moved back to Wisma 2 where the Shell retained organisation sits lah! Like nomad eh? Moved office twice in less than 1 month.. haha.

I went to see the Admin Assistant to get my laptop(yeah, I got to use a laptop in this new role..hehe..), it was a loaned unit and she told me that she has placed order for a new laptop for me... so... I should be expecting to get to use a brand new laptop soon..hehehe....

Settled down at my new cubicle and realised that the network cable was missing. So, as usual... called helpdesk to request for one. Didn't know the extension number to my phone line... called helpdesk. Cover to the side of the cubicle dropped off, called helpdesk. Didn't have any drawers to put my stuff, again, called helpdesk. Whole morning.. I was practically on the phone getting things done. Haha...

Then, started to read my mails. Got some mails from my new team lead and a 30-min meeting invite from her scheduled after lunch. Got some stuff to read up prior to the meeting. So... excels, word, powerpoints... all sorts of documents to read and familiarize myself with.

Lunch... had my usual 'yum yum' home-cooked meal. My mum cooked my favourite fried kuey teow-mee last nite, but I didn't get to eat it cuz was invited for dinner at a friend's house after badminton. So, asked her to leave some of my favourite dish for me for lunch today. =P

After lunch... continued with my reading. Then, the meet up with my team lead. It was a very short and compact session. She actually squeezed 30mins of her time and in between this 30mins, she has back to back tele-cons. Busy lady. =)

She brief me on my 1st assignment(3 action items), which is... hmmm... not tat easy. 'I know this is quite tough for a 1st assignment, but try your best ok?', was what she said to me. Hehe... I wasn't treated as a newbie at work, I was given quite a big task on my 1st day at work.. Hehe.. Not bad!

After the meeting, I went to Wisma 4(the building where I worked at for the last 2-3 weeks cuz of the office move...), went back to meet my old team mates, and also to get my earphone, cuz I left it at my PC. I need that to plug it to my laptop to listen to some music at work.. hehe... I need some 'noise' to concentrate... haha.

Then, it's work work work. In between, managed to chat a few liners with my usual chat kakis, but, it was short.

'The person most free is now a busy person' was their remark about me...hehe.. I used to be the 'MOST FREE' person available to chat. But, with this new role, NO WAY I'm gonna have time to chat during office hours! Hehe...

About 545pm, car pool mate buzz me. Time to go home! That's my 1st day at work... in this new role. =)

Emptiness

It's holiday season. I have been very busy for the past 2 days of the 5-day holiday for me... Lots of laughters... lots of joy... lots of sweat... but... WHY??? I still feel the emptiness within me.

Today... I actually have plans to go out... but... moments ago(or maybe I've decided long ago), I've decided to cancel all my plans for the day and instead... just stay home... do what? I dunno...

Maybe just laze around.. watch DVD... blogging.. surfing the net... listening to music... house chores...

WHY? WHAT HAPPENED? HOW? I dunno...

I don't wanna FEEL

Can't We Try
by Dan Hill with Vonda Shepard

I see your face cloud over
Like a little girls
Your eyes have lost their shine

You whisper something softly
I`m not meant to hear
Baby, tell me what`s on your mind

I don`t care what people say about
The two of us from different worlds
I love you so much that it hurts inside
Are you listening, please listen to me, girl

(CHORUS)
Can`t we try just a little bit harder
Can`t we give just a little bit more
Can`t we try to understand
That it`s love we`re fighting for
Can`t we try just a little more passion
Can`t we try just a little less pride
I love you so much, baby
That it tears me up inside

I hear you on the telephone
With God knows who
Spilling out your heart for free
Everyone needs someone they can talk to
Girl, that someone should be me
So many times I`ve tried to tell you

You just turned away (how did I know)
My life is changing so fast now
Leaves me lonely and afraid
Don`t be afraid

(CHORUS)
Don`t let our love fade away

(Don`t let our love fade away)
No matter what people say
(No matter, no matter what they say)
Cause I need youMore and more each day

(Don`t let our love fade away)
No matter what people say
(No matter, no matter what they say)

Can`t we try just a little bit harder
Can`t we give just a little bit more
Can`t we try just a little bit harder
Can`t we give just a little bit more

Can`t we try just a little more passion
Can`t we try just a little less pride
I love you so much, baby
It tears me up inside

Can`t we give a little bit, little bit
Can`t we try just a little bit harder
Can`t we give, oh, oh, oh
Can`t we try

Can`t we give a little bit more
Can`t we try, baby, can`t we give
Can`t we try just a little bit harder

Can`t we give just a little bit more

Diamond & Stones

Never take someone for granted. Hold every person close to your heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you've lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones.

Have you been too busy collecting stones??? Don't ever take someone you love for granted...

Letting Go...II

Letting go is one of the hardest lessons in life.

In life, there's many things that we have to learn to let go. We have to let go of situations, things, memories, people and even ourselves.

It's easy to form an attachment to people and things. When you've formed an attachment to people and things, it can be a very painful experience and feeling when you realized that it's time to let go. Even the mere thought of not having that person or thing in your life just squeezes your heart in pain.

However, there are times where you or that person has changed to the extent that it's necessary to let go of the relationship or friendship, so that each of you can fulfill your life path.

Letting go of your past and memories are also extremely hard. Even though old memories can be tormenting, yet you might hold on to the past and refuse to move forward. However, by refusing to let go of the painful past, it'll serve as a roadblock to love.

Letting go of your old self and the process of letting the new you emerge can be one of the scariest experiences in your life. But by leaving behind your old self and taking a leap of faith into the unknown, it might just reveal what you are truly capable of becoming.

Letting go doesn’t mean giving up, but rather accepting that there are things that cannot be.

Choices

When I came across this devotion... it reminds me of the many choices, decisions we make in life.

I remember on numerous occasions when I was in discussion with my friends about life... the struggles we go through... the problems we face... the people that broke our heart... and the list go on... But I remember myself saying this to my friends.. "Without all these struggles, life is juz so dull rite? Life is more interesting with all this!!!"

The following devotion speaks our choice to either react or respond to the situations we're in today... May it encourage you if you're in midst of a difficult situation... or something has been bothering you... Let's choose to face it POSITIVELY... let's look at our own situation in another perspective. =)

Here's the devotion...

Choices
Choose for yourselves.

Joshua 24:15 NIV

Our lives are like icebergs. Only 15 percent is visible; that's reputation. The rest, our character, is below the surface, hidden. Character is what we think but never share. It's what we do when no one's watching. It's how we react to everyday aggravations. It's how we handle failure - and success. The thing that has made us what we are is our choices. At the end of a successful career, Joshua challenges the people of Israel: "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." So the choice is yours!

French writer François de la Rochefoucauld asserted, "Almost all our faults are more pardonable than the methods we think up to hide them." Ever notice that people with the weakest character tend to place blame on their circumstances? They talk a lot about poor upbringing, financial difficulties, the unkindness of others, or other circumstances that have made them victims. Your circumstances may be beyond your control but your character is not. You can no more blame your character on your circumstances than you can blame the mirror for your looks. Developing character is always your choice. Every time you make a character-based decision you take another step forward in your Spiritual growth.

Take a moment and jot down times when you have faced temptation and adversity. Next to each, note your choice: escape, excuses, capitulation, avoidance, perseverance, or victory. What problem areas do you see? How will you learn to do better? If many of the things you list are due to circumstances beyond your control, then choose to take greater control of your life.

Smile at life and life will smile back at you

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?'

The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.' What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.' Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing? Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, 'Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness.... In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.'

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling...And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

The Brain Test

The Brain Test - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/3022

Balanced-brained
That means you are able to draw on the strengths of both the right and left hemispheres of your brain, depending upon a given situation. When you need to explain a complicated process to someone, or plan a detailed vacation, the left hemisphere of your brain, which is responsible for your ability to solve problems logically, might kick in. But if you were critiquing an art opening or coming up with an original way to file papers, the right side of your brain, which is responsible for noticing subtle details in things, might take over. While many people have clearly dominant left- or right-brained tendencies, you are able to draw on skills from both hemispheres of your brain. This rare combination makes you a very creative and flexible thinker. The down side to being balanced-brained is that you may sometimes feel paralyzed by indecision when the two hemispheres of your brain are competing to solve a problem in their own unique ways.

IQ Test

"She's giler... ", that's how my friends described me about today... =P

Here's my IQ test results.. hahaha...

Visual Mathematician
Your IQ Score is: 131
You have a strong ability to process visual-spatial and mathematical information. These skills combined with your strengths in logic are what make you a Visual Mathematician.

You're able to understand patterns visually and in numbers. That means your mind can create a mental picture for any problem. In addition to that skill, you possess an intelligence that allows you to apply math to that picture, too. That helps you manipulate multiple parts of the picture (or problem) to come up with a solution. You have many skills that are critical to success and problem-solving. Your talents help you understand the "big picture," which is partly why people may turn to you for direction — especially in the workplace. You flourish in environments where tasks are clearly defined, and you are a whiz at improving processes and making things more efficient. Your ability to detect patterns and your skills in math and logic, make it natural for you to come up with ideas and theories that simplify processes for everyone.

Outside of work, Visual Mathematicians tend to do well at strategic activities like chess. It must be that ability to recognize patterns — both as they are and how they develop. Regardless of how you put your mind to use, you've got a great set of talents. You will be able to envision a clear path and calculate the risks, and more importantly, the rewards, of anything you take on.

About Test Scores
Test scores are estimates of the attribute measured by the test. The accuracy of test scores depends on numerous factors, such as the following:
• Feelings about being tested
• Familiarity with standard English
• Cultural differences
• Conditions of the testing setting
• Mental restrictions
• Energy Level

When test scores are placed on common scale, or standardized, direct comparisons can be made among them.

For Standard Scores the average is 100, with 90 to 110 often considered the average range.
The Percentile provides an estimate of the percentage of people that, if tested, would earn lower scores than yours. The average Percentile is 50 and the average range is usually considered to be between the 25th and 75th percentile.
The distribution of IQ score follows a normal distribution or bell curve. The majority of people will score within the average range, with less falling into the high or low ranges of intellectual ability. Bell Curve image courtesy of Wikimedia Commons

Are You a Thrill Seeker? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/1353
Social Thrill Seeker
You'll go to great lengths to get a laugh and entertain people. And you don't mind poking fun at yourself or even getting into a little trouble to make sure you stay the center of attention. Admit it, you're the class clown — water balloons dousing strangers and fake names for substitute teachers are your specialty.Wildly funny and offbeat, you love doing things that no one else will, especially if a big crowd can witness your antics. While it might seem embarrassing to some, and others may like to call you a glutton for punishment, you're happiest when you've got people hanging on your every action and begging for more.

Are You an Open Book? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/124
Paperback
Stop the presses -- you're a Paperback!
Who wants to hide behind a thick cover? Most of the time you prefer to express yourself and tell people just how you feel. That's not to say that everything is open material. Your answers indicate that some chapters are off-limits. Maybe you'll open up to some close acquaintances -- but other feelings stay wrapped up tight among your emotional private papers. People with similar scores are generally sociable, warm, and dependable. But they also clearly acknowledge some room for improvement in their personal relationships.

Are You an Optimist or a Pessimist? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/173
A Ray of Sunshine
Congratulations! You're the eternal optimist, a regular "Sunshine Day" of a person. When it rains, you think about how good the water is for the flowers and trees rather than how wet you're getting. More likely to trust someone than not, you always see the good in people. Sure, that opens you up for a few let-downs, but that's okay — your great attitude will help you deal with them if and when they come. In the long run, it doesn't really matter at all; everything's going to be all right! You like meeting new people and thoroughly enjoy their companionship. In a nutshell, you just don't dwell on small failures — you learn from your mistakes and do your best to make everyone around you happy to be alive. Keep it up!

Are You a Risk Taker? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/47Total Medium
Fear is your friend, but you know where to draw the line between a risky proposition and outright craziness.

Do You Have a Balanced Lifestyle? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/167
Total Balanced Medium High
You're doing better than most when it comes to living a balanced life, but there's always room for improvement. Try paying closer attention to how you feel each day, both physically and emotionally. Tune into what foods and beverages make you feel your best — and which leave you agitated or drained. Experiment with the amount of sleep you get to find the exact number of hours your body needs every night. Examine your situation at work and see if there are any changes you can implement to make your job more manageable. And keep in mind that knowing what you need to stay happy and healthy is only part of the game — you have to incorporate these things into your lifestyle every day in order to benefit. Here are a few general tips and reminders:
Health:
As you probably already know, eating a varied, nutritious diet, working out regularly, and sleeping enough all boost your immune system to ward off illness, improve your mood, and make you more resilient to stress. Here's a big pat on the back for making the effort to take care of yourself!
Relationships:
Connecting with other people while making it a priority to spend some time alone may just be the secret to true social harmony. As studies have shown, friends and family can be a great help in times of crisis (and almost every other time, too). So just keep in mind that meeting friends for dinner during the week or setting aside time to visit with family can really recharge your batteries and make you feel balanced — especially when they're offset with regular periods of solitude.
Career
It's all about keeping your job in perspective. Evenings, weekends, and vacations are important to you, and you do your best to take full advantage of your personal time. After all, enjoying quality time off actually contributes to productivity when you're back at your desk. When you're relaxed and rested, you can be more creative and efficient. Your friends and family also get to reap the benefits of your successful work/home life. When you're not consumed and overwhelmed by work, you're free to be fully present in the moment. And isn't that what life is all about?

What's Your Emotional Age? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/125
Behavior Middle Positive
Behavior:There are countless reasons why people may act or feel a certain age at any given point in their lives. Feeling a certain age is not a static thing, nor is it something that always follows a pre-determined pattern. Some people act older when they are children then have a second childhood in their retirement years. Others act like children until they become parents and then seem to click into a different mode. It can be helpful and insightful to learn which stage you're at right now, and why.
Nobody fits neatly into a given category. There are several components in your emotional age: behavior, feelings, and responsibility. In the area of behavior, you seem to fall into the "adult" category. Adults tend to be efficient and responsible. You are probably a "doer" whom others consider reliable, stable, and consistent. People feel they can depend on you. Of course, if others rely too much on you, it can be a burden. You seem, however, to be someone who strikes a healthy balance between fulfilling others' needs and taking care of your own. Just be aware that if you feel overwhelmed by the pressures put on you, you should take some time out for yourself.

Why Are You Still Single? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/1155
Don't Want To Slow Down
Whether you're working all hours, busy with school, or planning a cross-country move, it sounds like you just don't have time for anyone else in your life...right now, that is. Your timing may be off in other aspects, too. Chances are, you've met that perfect person who just so happens to be married or planning their own cross-country move. So take a step back for a moment. Is there something underlying this? Could it be you're afraid to get involved for some reason or another, and are therefore attracted to people who are simply unavailable?Whether you're secretly sabotaging yourself or not, try a little exercise. Open your mind to those who are around you (and available!) right now. Then let up on your schedule to let that someone in. That is, unless you want to get married to your goals, and not Mr. or Mrs. Right.

Are You Ready to Get Married? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/13500612
You should Set a Date
Either you were stretching the truth a little bit (or a lot!) when you answered these questions or you and your boyfriend are totally ready to get married. There isn’t much you don’t agree on, whether it’s how to argue or when you should keep a secret from each other. It sounds like you’re communication champs and are total pros at the other Cs: compromise and commitment. We’re not saying you need to rush to pick out your colors or decide how you’re going to word the invitations, but you’re definitely in a good place to move forward together. So congratulate yourselves on a job well done!

What Type of Flirt Are You? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/160
Subtle
Were you just winking at us? We couldn't quite tell... In fact, we think it's pretty safe to say that you're a Subtle Flirt — you're a master of the flirting game. You know how to attract attention from anyone, any time. A quick come-hither smile, a little game of look-away-and-look-back-again — before long you have the object of your affection wrapped around your little finger. One of the best things about your approach is that it's discreet. You can always act innocent and coy if something gets taken out of context or misunderstood. Just make sure you're not too subtle, or you may end up playing the game all by yourself.

Are You a Hopeless Romantic? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/1499
Silly Souvenirs
Ticket stubs from the first concert you went to together, fun photo booth pics, hilarious cards: the perfect ways to bring out your inner sap. These mementoes of great times put your head in the clouds, even when you have your feet on the ground. Dreamy and romantic, you just love to be in love. And it shows. But you shouldn't keep those things around too long — even if they're from your seventh-grade sweetheart. The love of your life might not exactly be thrilled to see pictures on your nightstand of you and your ex. But don't worry — if you get rid of them, you'll have room for more!

Are You Naughty or Nice? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/1465
Not Half Bad
But you're not all good either. Even if most people think you're a bit of a goody twoshoes, we know better. Sure, you're generally a by-the-book, law-abiding model citizen, but every once in a while you like to break a rule or three. Skinny dipping? Done it. Had one drink too many? Guilty as charged. But chances are that's pretty much the worst of it.We all have a few skeletons in our closet, but when it comes down to it, you're a nice person. You wouldn't dream of making a serious play for your best friend's squeeze, and you always pay your traffic fines — speeding and parking tickets. It's a good balance, so keep it up!

Are You an Introvert or an Extrovert? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/179
Extrovert
Although you aren't completely outgoing all the time, you definitely aren't the "quiet and shy" poster child, either. That's because, when all's said and done, you're much more of an extrovert than an introvert. What does that mean? Well, for one, that you enjoy spending time with other people. You're never bored in your own company, but when it comes down to it, you'd rather interact than introspect. Evenings and weekends are for hanging out and catching up with your buddies, not sitting by yourself in the dark, right? And if you have a problem, chances are you'll talk it out with your friends or family, not stew over it on your own. That's what having a social network is for, after all. As long as you're not ignoring any thoughts or feelings that really need to be dealt with, it seems like you're in a really healthy place. Congrats!

Do You Follow Your Heart or Your Head? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/1244
Heart-Strong Romantic
Whether you planned it or not, you just can't help but follow your feelings when it comes to matters of l'amour. You're a passionate person who can't ignore things that fit you to a T — whether it's that perfect pair of jeans, a good cause, or the love of a lifetime.Sure, things don't always go according to plan, but with an irrepressible drive like yours, you'd better get used to it! Living life as a fake just isn't in the cards for you. So open up your arms and embrace what life throws your way — especially if it happens to be the man of your dreams!

How Passionate Are You? - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/1171
Carefree Carnation
With your breed of passion, it's no wonder life smells so sweet! Must be nice to strike such an even keel while others around you sway to the opposite extremes. Somehow, you manage to go through life with a swing in your step — and without sacrificing your goals! After all, life's too short to get obsessed over just one pursuit. And if you keep your feet planted firmly on terra firma, you'll stay on the road to making friends, not waves.Of course, this isn't to say you don't have burning desires. It's just that they might be more along the lines of seeing the next hot flick or taking care of a friend in need than on becoming class valedictorian. After all, not everyone's happiness can be measured by report cards and résumés. In fact, maybe that kind of ambition never really made sense to you. Why would you sacrifice a weekend with the girls to make yourself crazy cramming for some test on the French Revolution or to impress a college admissions committee when you could be forging life-long ties with family and friends? To you, it's all a matter of priorities. There's nothing wrong with setting goals, but you're a believer in the realistic variety. Why chase dreams when there's so much to do in the here and now? So kick back and keep it real with your carefree, perennial passion!

The Identity Test - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/147
Extraversion High
Your high score in the Extraversion category defines your social identity. You probably feel very comfortable with a large number of people, and enjoy spending your time with them. In fact, chances are that you'd prefer to be among people than by yourself. Isolation can feel like punishment. Your vigorous and active style of interaction makes you an excellent leader. Equally, you can be a very warm friend. You probably are someone who enjoys excitement and looks for thrills where you can find them. Your cheerful exuberance means that you are probably quite popular in your social circle.

The Just Between Friends Test - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/1148
Funny Friend
Seriously, there's nothing like spending time with the person who just naturally brings out your sunny, and funny, side. Who wants to be dour and sour? Your upbeat attitude and appreciation for the lighter moments in life is what seals the deal for you and the resident comedian in your life. You know who we're talking about — the friend with the one-liners, the quick wit, the insightful commentaries on life's absurdities — the friend who can make you laugh even when they're poking fun at you.But even if they are telling a joke at your expense, you know you can count on them to keep you young at heart, laid-back, and fun-loving. When it comes down to it, would you want it to be any other way? No way!

The Love or Money Test - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/1414
Hopeless Romantic
For richer? For poorer? It doesn't matter to you because you're the Hopeless Romantic. Whether your sweetie is an oil baron or a grease monkey, it's all about until death do us part.Even if you haven't met "the one," you'll judge your soul mate by the love letters, roses, and foot massages — not the size of their bankroll. And even if their wallet is as fat as their sonnet collection, the toughest part of your relationship will be arguing over which charity to choose, who loves whom more, and who's the bigger Schmoopie. And if that diamond ring turns brass, no biggie — your love is totally not-for-profit.

The Love Test - http://web.tickle.com/quizzes/show/189
Romantic Middle
Okay, so you're not a die-hard romantic who carelessly tosses around loving words, hopeful promises, and doting acts, but you do a pretty great job of expressing your loving feelings. Couplehood suits you to a T, and you like coming up with new, creative, non-mushy ways of showing your honey how you feel. You know very well that there are other ways to show love, respect, and admiration besides all that flowery mumbo-jumbo. Basically, you're passionately romantic without being excessively sentimental — practical, but also sweet and sensitive. Because no matter what, it's very important to you that your partner understands how much you care about her — you love how close you feel to her when you tell and show her what's in your heart.

Friendship vs Love

Friendship... Love... there's some things on my mind lately... but.. I'm not ready to post them all here yet... hehehe... maybe... I'm still struggling... maybe... I;m still wondering... maybe... just too many maybe(s).... =P

Came across this on the internet... juz tot of posting it here. =)

Friendship is a quiet walk in the park with the one you trust.
Love is when you feel like you are the only two around.

Friendship is when they gaze into your eyes and you know they care.
Love is when they gaze into your eyes and it warms your heart.

Friendship is being close even when you are far apart.
Love is when you can still feel their hand on your heart when they are not near.

Friendship is hoping that they experience the very best.
Love is when you bring them the very best.

Friendship occupies your mind.
Love occupies your soul.

Friendship is knowing that you will always try to be there when in need.
Love is when you will give up everything to be at their side.

Friendship is a warm smile in the winter.
Love is a warming touch that sends a pulse through your heart.

Love is a beautiful smile to which nothing compares:
A tender laugh, which opens your heart,
A single touch that melts away your fears,
A smell that reminds you of the tenderness of heaven,
A voice that reminds you of the innocence of youth.

Friendship can survive without love.
Love cannot live without friendship.

Swimming

Few days back... my mind was really 'flooded' with many many things... things tat i really need to 'unload' from my brain... =P

So... after work and after dialing in from home for a tele-conference.. I went for a swim at the pool at my apartment... (i tend to think more clearly when I'm at the pool.... maybe I'm a person who loves water... so... swimming is therapeutic for me).

It was about 830pm when I went for the swim.. the pool was rather quiet at that time.. most people were having dinner I supposed.

I swam a few laps... non-stop... surprisingly... I still have the stamina though I have stopped swimming(due to lazyness) for 1-2 months... and maybe I have too much in my mind that I was oblivious of the tiredness of my body....

Swimming a few laps.. then stopped at the pool side to rest.. then continued again.. in total.. I swam 12 laps on that night. My usual routine was only 8-10 laps. To many routine swimmers.. this might seems little, but it's an achievement for me.. hehehe...

After the swim... as usual... I rested at the side of the pool... and just starring to the front where the tennis court is... then... i look around to see many kids came to swim while their parents sat at the bench watching them swim. What a nice and relax thing to do after dinner.... I felt the peace in me... I felt better... many things still on my mind.. but somehow.. I felt better. =P

The next day... after coming back from work.. I went for another swim before dialling in from home for another tele-conference.

This time.. the swimming wasn't to help me have a clear mind.. but this is more for exercise and to lose some fats..hehehe...

I remember starting on my keeping fit program early this year... I started off well by swimming and going to gym regularly and keeping an eye on my food intake. But.. somewhere along the way... I swayed away.. I started to eat more than I supposed to... and the frequency of exercise routine seems lesses and lesser... I lost the battle to lazyness and perserverance I supposed. =)

But the swim the day before which was with the intention of having a clear mind after the swim re-started my swimming routine... so... to continue with this momentum.. I decided to go on with it.

And this morning... I woke up and went for a swim as well! Today I didn't car pool as usual with my mates (so I have ample time to swim before I go to work and reach office later than my usual time), cuz 2nite we're having team dinner at Jogoya(shall blog about it..hehe)!!! It's Japanese Buffet dinner... so.. it's makan time again!!! But I'm not gonna 'control' my food intake 2nite.. hehehe... I'm juz gonna enjoy myself cuz Japanese food has been one of my favourite! hehehe...

Today's weather is juz so so so nice... while driving to work this morning... I felt so nice... partly cuz of the morning swim which was very refreshing.. partly oso due to the nice weather... the cool air.. the breeze... the drizzle...

My mood is juz so good today.. hehehe.. relaxing mood.

But I know... deep inside my mind... I'm still thinking about 2moro... the decision I gonna make for 2moro...

So.. let's see what happens 2moro.. =P

Lessons in Life

A friend send me this... really caught my attention... so... post it here...

The Turtles
A turtle family decided to go on a picnic. The turtles, being naturally slow about things, took seven years to prepare for their outing. Finally the turtle family left home looking for a suitable place. During the second year of their journey they found a place ideal for them at last!

For about six months they cleaned the area, unpacked the picnic basket, and completed the arrangements. Then they discovered they had forgotten the salt. A picnic without salt would be a disaster, they all agreed. After a lengthy discussion, the youngest turtle was chosen to retrieve the salt from home. Although he was the fastest of the slow moving turtles, the little turtle whined, cried, and wobbled in his shell. He agreed to go on one condition: that no one would eat until he returned. The family consented and the little turtle left.

Three years passed and the little turtle had not returned. Five years...six years... then on the seventh year of his absence, the oldest turtle could no longer contain his hunger. He announced that he was going to eat and begun to unwrap a sandwich.

At that point the little turtle suddenly popped out from behind a tree shouting, 'See! I knew you wouldn't wait. Now I am not going to go get the salt.'
[Some of us waste our time waiting for people to live up to our expectations. We are so concerned about what others are doing that we don't do anything ourselves.]

The Frogs
A farmer came into town and asked the owner of a restaurant if he could use a million frog legs. The restaurant owner was shocked and asked the man where he could get so many frog legs! The farmer replied, 'There is a pond near my house that is full of frogs - millions of them. They all croak all night long and they are about to make me crazy!' So the restaurant owner and the farmer made an agreement that the farmer would deliver frogs to the restaurant, five hundred at a time for the next several weeks.

The first week, the farmer returned to the restaurant looking rather sheepish, with two scrawny little frogs. The restaurant owner said, 'Well... where are all the frogs?' The farmer said, 'I was mistaken. There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they sure were making a lot of noise!'
[ Next time you hear somebody criticizing or making fun of you, remember, it's probably just a couple of noisy frogs. Also remember that problems always seem bigger in the dark. Have you ever laid in your bed at night worrying about things which seem almost overwhelming like a million frogs croaking? Chances are pretty good that when the morning comes, and you take a closer look, you'll wonder what all the fuss was about.]

The Pretty Lady
Once upon a time a big monk and a little monk were traveling together. They came to the bank of a river and found the bridge was damaged. They had to wade across the river. There was a pretty lady who was stuck at the damaged bridge and couldn't cross the river.

The big monk offered to carry her across the river on his back. The lady accepted. The little monk was shocked by the move of the big monk. 'How can big brother carry a lady when we are supposed to avoid all intimacy with females?' thought the little monk. But he kept quiet. The big monk carried the lady across the river and the small monk followed unhappily. When they crossed the river, the big monk let the lady down and they parted ways with her.

All along the way for several miles, the little monk was very unhappy with the act of the big monk. He was making up all kinds of acussations about big monk in his head. This got him madder and madder. But he still kept quiet. And the big monk had no inclination to explain his situation. Finally, at a rest point many hours later, the little monk could not stand it any further, he burst out angrily at the big monk. 'How can you claim yourself a devout monk, when you seize the first opportunity to touch a female, especially when she is very pretty? All your teachings to me make you a big hypocrite The big monk looked surprised and said, 'I had put down the pretty lady at the river bank many hours ago, how come you are still carrying her along?'
[This very old Chinese Zen story reflects the thinking of many people today. We encounter many unpleasant things in our life, they irritate us and they make us angry. Sometimes, they cause us a lot of hurt, sometimes they cause us to be bitter or jealous .. But like the little monk, we are not willing to let them go away.We keep on carrying the baggage of the 'pretty lady' with us. We let them keep on coming back to hurt us, make us angry, make us bitter and cause us a lot of agony. Why? Simply because we are not willing to put down or let go of the baggage of the 'pretty lady'. We should let go of the pretty lady immediately after crossing the river, that is after the unpleasant event is over. This will immediately remove all our agonies. There is no need to be further h urt by the unpleasant event after it is over.]
