Joona & myself got down to planning.. and finally, we decided to hold BBQ dinner at Courtney's house.
I've mentioned to Courtney that Yaw & myself will reach her house abt 530pm to help start fire.
Looking at my watch, it's already 5.30pm and I'm still on the road, stuck in jam on LDP!!!
I sms Yaw, telling him that I shall be abit late cuz got stucked in jam. He replied and mentioned that he & Michelle has just left Michelle's house, so, he asked me not to hurry. Yaw has gone to Michelle's house to marinate the chicken for BBQ as his house in Kepong(where he stayed with his bro) has no ingredients for marinating the chicken! Michelle were to prepare potato salad and muffins! Muffins to replace the conventional birthday cake.. tat's a brilliant idea from Christine!
Earlier the day, I've heard Yaw's comments after he tried the 1st batch of Michelle's muffins... "It's TOO SWEET!!!" was his comment. Michelle has decided to use the remaining few hours to "re-do" the muffins.. haha... the end product? Read on... hehehe...
When I reached Courtney's house... I've actually done a few turning and searching for the "Jalan" of her house.. although Yaw has earlier given me the instructions of how to get there... but i DID NOT fully follow his instructions! I got off at the wrong turning.. hence... my EXTRA petrol to find the house! A lesson learnt here.. "FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS!!!" Hahaha...
Christine was the first to arrive, although she has to work on the day itself... It was Metro's 1st ever Open Day!!! How embarrassing for us people who has the whole Saturday FREE, yet we arrived later than her! haha...
Few minutes later... Yaw & Michelle arrived.
Immediately when Yaw stepped into the kitchen.. he ask, "I smelled durian.. where is it?"
Yaw & myseld then had a good taste of the durian. Me who don't normally take durian also enjoyed it..hehe..
We then got down to start the fire... Errr.. actually it was Courtney's hubby - Zach who started the fire. All of us? We were siiting at the dining area chatting, trying to catch up! "Pai seh..." we got the host to start the fire..haha...
After a while... everyone got down to the preparation... bringing the chicken out for BBQ, the chairs.. the tables...
Suddenly... someone shouted.. "Where's the butter & serai?" Oh!!! Yaw was allocated as the person in charge of this.. then he said, "Michelle was supposed to bring!!! It was at her house after we bought it from Giant!" Oh No!!! Christine the laughed at Yaw, "Earlier you were the one who teased Marianne about the Serai.. now you're the one who forgotten about it!" Yaw had earlier teased me when few days back, I was calling everyone for the food arrangement & preparations. I was trying to tell Yaw about Serai(which I learnt about the name later) in Cantonese... I was strugging with the word.. "Hiong.. Hiong.. Hiong.. wat ah?"
"Hiong Mau lah!" Yaw answered on the other end of the phone... haha.. Pardon me la... Me memang idiot in anything to do with cooking.. Yaw is the EXPERT!!! Shame shame to the gals community.. lol
Anyway.. come back to the BBQ.. got carried away cuz of the "Hiong Mau" pulak! Haha...
So... Michelle decided to go out and get the butter... cuz BBQ chicken don't taste as good without the butter... haha...
Off went Michelle in search of the butter while the rest of us got down to BBQ-ing...
Caught this photo of Courtney's 2-yr old daughter trying to sweep the floor! Such a cute sight! "Faster go get ur camera!!" Christine shouted to me...
I quickly go grab my camera and captured a few shots of Natasha "sweeping" the floor...
"Tat's good wat... good training... ", Christine answered.
Here's the guys "cooking" the 1st batch of chicken...
The chicken looks quite burnt eh? (the ones on the top left corner.. the ones in the pot are the better ones.. haha)
After a while, Michelle came back with the butter... so.. off we go butter-ing the chicken.
"Eh.. why not we microwave the chicken 1st.. at least it's half cook, then it won't get so burnt!", I told the guys after seeing them struggling with the chicken wings.
"U so hungry meh? So fast for wat? We got lots of time.. we go slow slow ma... ", Yaw teased me.
In the end.. we decided to take a few and put them into the Microwave Oven.
"Michelle.. come! Help me take them in.. ", I shouted to Michelle.
So, both of us were happily bringing the 2 pots of chicken wings and walked towards the kitchen. Then we both stopped. SILENCE....
"Eh? Where's the Microwave?", I asked.
We both look at each other and blurted out with laughters.
We then manage to figure out that the Microwave Oven was at the 2nd part of the kitchen... tat's behind... Both gals had a good laugh over this small matter. It was such a fun time that everyone enjoyed every moment of it.
It's still BBQ-ing time.. as the chicken wings took quite a lot of patience and diligence to cook... So, everyone gathered around the BBQ pit and chatted.
Suddenly, we heard Christine exclaimed, "Hey Yaw... why u always "chat" me today ah! Aiyor!!! When u were still working at Metro, u weren't like tat.. why today u so noti ah?"
Christine was trying to stop Yaw from teasing her the whole time when they were sitting ther chatting.

When Joona first stepped into the house.. Yaw started his "chat" session again! Aiyoh!!! Yaw ah Yaw... the wife and son din come... dia jadi "gila" sikit d.... hahahaha....

We started the makan makan & chatting sessions. Everyone had a good laugh eating and laughing.
Suddenly, Christine, Michelle & myself tot of asking the crowd some LAME jokes we learnt from our dinner few days back(go read the blog - "I sold it for RM11!!!" )
There are 3 questions to the Pau jokes. I've asked Michelle to start with the 1st one.. She started well with the question that goes.. "Char Sew Pau & Mun Tau went for a movie, a sad movie. But only Char Siew Pau cried.. why?"
No one in the crowd can guess the answer... so.. everyone asked Michelle for the answer. But... to Christine & my surprise!!! Michelle gave the wrong answer!!! She gave away the answer to our 2nd question!!!
"Aiyoh!!! Michelle!!!!", both Christine & myself shouted. Haha...
We paused for a while to tell some other jokes, then we can back to the lame jokes about Pau again.
This time, Christine asked the 2nd question. "This time, Char Sew Pau & Tau Sa Pau went for the same movie. Again.. only Char Sew Pau cried. Why?"
It went on well... but no one got the answer we have in mind.
Then, my turn to ask the 3rd question.
"Mr. & Mrs. Char Sew Pau took their son out for a walk at the streets. Suddenly, Char Sew Pau junior ran out to the road and got ran over by a car. Upon seeing this, Mr. Char Sew Pau gave his wife a big slap! Why?"
The above was the 3 questions told to us by Allen aka Tikus during our last dinner.
But when Christine asked these 3 questions to her sister, she got herself a 4th question.
"Related to question 3, why can't Mrs Char Sew Pau defend herself?"
So... whoever wants a answers to the above lame jokes.. juz put in ur comments on this blog la. Lol.
Oh.. where am I? Got carried away again.. this time by the lame jokes.
Then.. it's time to bring out the "CAKE!". Tat's the muffins specially made by Michelle. Joona & Michelle went to the kitchen to light up 30+ candles.. on 30+ muffins!
Then... Michelle brought out the "cake" and everyone started singing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to Courtney. It was a belated birthday celebration bt almost 1 month! The delay was due to the busy schedule of everyone here.. haha!
The muffins was very very delicious! Good job Michelle!!!
Yaw mentioned to me, "You know.. this 2nd batch of muffins has 3 differences as compared to the 1st batch. 1 - earlier one was too sweet, 2 - earlier one was too "WET", 3 - earlier batch's muffins don't look like muffins!"
Haha... whatever the 1st batch look/taste like.. Just wanna say a BIG THANK YOU to Michelle for the hard work and effort in making this very very tasty muffins.
After the "cake cutting" & candles blowing session for Courtney, Michelle and I went to the kitchen to get some cold drinks. Michelle spotted a glass for wine and shot. These 2 crazy gals then decided to pour in some Ribena(which was supposed to be meant for the kids) into the glass and took photos of it.

Yaw came into the kitchen and saw both of us... he only said, "Sigh... u gals... ".
After everyone got their stomachs all filled up with good, shandy... we went inside the house to relax.
The 2 kids were laying on the sofa watching Nemo.
All the adults sat down to watch too! I found myself a very comfy chair and sat down to enjoy Nemo.
After a while.. Courtney came in and saw all of us sitting there watching Nemo, she said, "Eh? I tot this is supposed to be for the kids to watch? But the kids are now running around, instead u all adults watching it?"
We all laughed. No harm watching cartoons rite? Lol.
After the movie... we went to the dining table and looked at the OVER ESTIMATED food. We decided to pack these food for our lunch the next day. Yaw packed his lunch & dinner into the small 2-tier tiffin carrier!!! Amazing when we see how he packed the food into the small containers! Hahaha...
We all had a good time laughing and chatting at the dining table.
It's almost 11pm.. time to go home.
So.. we said goodbyes to one another and part our ways.
It was a fun nite!!!
